About Me

Adam Roberts ("The Amateur Gourmet") lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn, with his friend Diana, his cat Lolita, and his boyfriend Craig who visits frequently. Adam has a J.D. from Emory Law School and an M.F.A. from NYU's Tisch School of Dramatic Writing. His book, "The Amateur Gourmet," will be published by Bantam/Dell in Fall 2007. A Brief History of This Site
The Amateur Gourmet began on January 14th, 2004. In its two year history it has been featured on CNN and in various publications including The Atlanta Journal Constitution ("[The Amateur Gourmet] has more bottled energy than there is oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve"), The Boston Globe ("Aside from the site's snappy prose, its ''Saturday Night Live"-worthy comedy sketch mpegs, such as ''Great Moments in Musical Theater Featuring Eggs" and ''Project Sourdough," are hilarious"), The Christian Science Monitor ("This may be the most humorous blog out there"), and The Globe and Mail. To The Amateur Gourmet's disappointment, he has yet to appear on The View.
